Julian Blumenfeld, MD
Vice President, nutraMetrix Educational Institute

With over 20 years of experience in clinical practice, academics and independent consulting, Dr. Blumenfeld provides a wealth of expertise and talent. As VP of the Educational Institute, Dr. Blumenfeld develops curricula, moderates and facilitates conferences and provides oversight for all health professional education. He works closely with the nutraMetrix clinical and guest faculty as well as the accreditation sponsors to accomplish the mission and goals of the Educational Institute.

Dr. Blumenfeld also serves as the Chief Medical Officer of nutraMetrix Advanced Nutraceuticals, the health professional division of Market America. In this capacity, he oversees special projects, clinical research, participates in strategic planning and advises executives as a member of the Management Team. As head of the Clinical Research Committee, Dr. Blumenfeld identifies key areas for research funding, coordinates academic partnerships and determines grant awards. He has recently coauthored several papers on the role and efficacy of OPC bioflavonoids in humans. In addition, he has been selected to serve on the Advisory Board for a novel joint NIH and National Library of Medicine funded study to develop a national consumer and research database on nutritional supplements.

After receiving his Doctor of Medicine at New York Medical College, he completed a 3 year residency in pediatrics and was selected to pursue a 2 year post doctoral fellowship in allergy and clinical immunology at the University of Southern California School of Medicine. As a fellow, he concentrated in food allergy and conducted original research investigating the role of food allergy in asthma.
