Samana Zulu, MD FACS

Dr. Samana Zulu is a physician and surgeon who during his residency recognized the critical role of nutrition in healing. Integrating nutritional interventions, gene SNP testing, as well as traditional medical and surgical approaches in his private practice, Dr. Zulu offers an unusually comprehensive and holistic set of options and therapeutics to all his patients.

After receiving his Doctor of Medicine at the University of Maryland College of Medicine, he successfully completed the grueling 5 year general surgery residency at Howard University Hospital with service as Chief Resident. He then served as a surgical attending physician at Howard University. For his dedication and outstanding teaching abilities, he has received several distinguished teaching awards including the Department of Surgery Certificate for "Superior Performance in Teaching and Training of Residents" at Howard University. In addition, his research interests include "The Effects of the Plant Glycoside Saponin on the Shape of Sickled Red Blood Cells". In 2001, he was the recipient of the prestigious "Healthcare Foundation of New Jersey Humanism in Medicine Award" for his distinguished and generous medical service to the community.
